Before the conversation starts
Choose Start live video chat to enter the video matching flow. Your browser will ask for access to your camera and microphone. Find a place where you feel comfortable being seen and heard, then allow access when you're ready.
Matching depends on who’s available, so connection times can vary. If a call doesn’t connect, try another match. The cam chat guide has help with device permissions.
When someone answers
A first conversation can be simple. Say hello, ask how their day is going, or pick up on something they choose to share. You can stay in the call when it feels comfortable or end it when you're ready.
The controls are there for practical moments too. You can mute your microphone, mute the other person's sound, or blur your own picture. Learn more about these options in the cam-to-cam guide.

Tap Next to move on from a match. Someone you've skipped won't be matched with you again for a while. There isn't a fixed waiting period promised here.
You don't owe anyone a longer conversation. If something feels wrong, end the call. Reporting and blocking are available from the other person's profile after the call.
After the call
Your conversation can continue in messages once the call ends. If you’d also like to follow the person, you’ll need to register.
If you enjoyed the conversation, a short follow-up is enough: “That was fun. What was the name of the song you mentioned?” Keep personal contact details private until you're comfortable sharing them.
Give your connection a fair chance
Keep your browser in the foreground during the call, use a stable connection, and close other apps that may be using the camera. If the picture or sound stops, check permissions and your connection before starting again.
If the issue keeps happening, note your device and browser before contacting support.
